April is for… Advil!

April is an exciting time of year! Plants are coming alive! Perennials are peeping through the mulch. Shrubs that were bare sticks last month suddenly have tiny leaves. Camellias and Forsythia in full glory, Dogwoods and Azaleas budded and waiting for just that special moment…and the Cherry blossoms a visual treat. April is truly an amazing time of year! And a lot of work! For most of us, gardening is more enjoyably done when the sun is shining and the temps are above 60. That means April! However, our winter bodies are not used to the bending that our spring bodies need to do! Bend to pull weeds, bend to dig, bend to plant, bend to mulch, bend to fertilize… did God really intend beauty to require so much bending? I guess so because we all do it! And at the end of the day when we turn around in our yard, see the beauty we created around us and realize the work that we did to get it there, I do believe God intended beauty to require bending… and a little Advil to go with it!
